BP introduces higher definition 3D shingle with the Meridian Hip & Ridge 3D

Montreal, June 21, 2010 — Building Products of Canada Corp. is pleased to announce the launch of its Meridian Hip & Ridge 3D Shingle, a new asphalt shingle that promises to raise the way the market views 3D roofing.

The Meridian 3D is designed to deliver an extra-dimensional finished look to the roofline to really bring out the character of a home and enhance its curb appeal. Beyond the visual experience, the Meridian 3D will also provide home builders, roofers and homeowners a better performing alternative to capping roofs with single-ply cut-up shingles, by offering multilayer protection at the roof peak that is up to three times higher. The shingle innovatively offers the flexibility of 1, 2 and 3 ply applications, and is conveniently pre-scored for quick and easy folding to the desired thickness with absolutely no cutting required.

“We wanted to introduce to the market a high rise shingle that combines the wow effect of high definition 3D, excellent multiple layer protection along the roof peak, the option of deciding on a single, double or triple layer and uniquely being able to fold the shingle tool-lessly for a clean and quick application,” says Robert Caron, Vice-President Sales & Marketing.

Available in seven high definition colours to match other shingles in the BP shingle line.
